Flower by Drew Barrymore in Baby’s Breath

There is a lot of buzz about the new line Flower by Drew Barrymore that is exclusive to Walmart. We love that this line is Made in the USA. We picked up a few of the glosses called Flower Shine On Lipglosses. They are described as:

  • Creamy, Rich and Smooth Gloss
  • Pillow-like softness on the lips
  • Medium buildable coverage

These glosses really do feel creamy and smooth without stickiness or tackiness. When we tried out the shade Baby’s Breath, it reminded us of Nars Turkish Delight. Dupe? Pretty darn close (more on that soon). As Olive swiped it on her lips, she said “Oh Drew” like a girl that had just fallen in love. Baby’s breath reminds us of 80′s wrist corsages and when Ivory tried the shade on her pout, it was the 80′s all over again. This is where skintones can make or break a shade. Because this shade is such a milky light pink, any pink tones in your lips may make it appear too pink. Olive skin tones may be more suitable for this particular gloss because the warmer undertones in the lips won’t pull too much pink and give it that harsh ashy look.

NARS Turkish Delight Dupe

Nars Lipgloss in Turkish Delight has become a coveted gloss ever since Kim Kardashian named it as her favorite pinky-nude gloss. People went nuts as soon as the words left her mouth and every Nars counter was flooded with grabby hands. The color is a beautiful milky nude pink. It loses a little pigment when applied and goes on a little more sheer than what you see on the wand. The formula is nice and smooth but it has a weird plastic smell.

When looking at Baby’s Breath and Turkish Delight side-by-side in their tubes, they don’t look like they would be that similar but once applied, they are almost identical. Baby’s Breath is a tad more opaque which is probably why it didn’t work on Ivory. Here they are photographed in full sun side-by-side.

The first 2 photos were taken when applied heavily to show the pigmentation. In the last photo, they are blended out to show how they would appear when worn normally.

Overall, they are so similar in texture, feel and wear time that we think Baby’s Breath is worthy of dupe status. If we had to split hairs on differences, it would be that Baby’s Breath is a tad milkier and warmer. Turkish Delight has a slightly cooler tone that may be a bit better on the Ivories.

We are still trying out the other glosses in the Flower collection and so far, so good! The glosses retail for $6.98 and are sold exclusively at Walmart and walmart.com.

Check out the other shades here.

Have you picked up anything from the collection?
